PalThink for Strategic Studies has organized a session discussing a policy paper entitled “Towards Effective National Policies to Confront Hate Speech in Palestine” by researchers Daad Mahmoud and Yahya Qaoud, as part of the activities of the “PalThink Academy for Democracy and Human Rights – Phase II” project, supported by the German Federal Foreign Office’s funds by ifa’s Funding Programme zivik.
A number of experts, representatives of civil society, and youth participated in the session, as the researchers reviewed hate speech in the society and the reasons behind its spread. The researchers touched on the practice of hate speech and its victims and presented a set of policy alternatives that would address the problem.
