Youth Research Paper: “Informal Labor in the Gaza Strip: Facts and Figures”


PalThink for Strategic Studies has released a youth research paper entitled “Informal Labor in the Gaza Strip: Facts and Figures”, prepared by members of the Democracy and Youth Dialogue Forum Abdullah Abu Shaar and Muhammad Ashour, within the “PalThink Academy for Democracy and Human Rights” project, supported by the German Federal Foreign Office’s funds by ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen), Funding Programme zivik. The paper presents facts and figures related to the reality of informal labor in the Gaza Strip in light of the deteriorating economic situation, the high unemployment rate, and the impact of the occupation and division. It also examines the causes of the expansion of the informal labor sector and the most notable challenges facing informal workers.
